Stories of Our Sister

ree

Explore your journey and share your real, raw and unfiltered story alongside other young women from culturally diverse, refugee and migrant backgrounds.

Stories of our Sisters is a new project that is creating a safe space for young women to come together, unpack their stories and learn about how to share them through the creative art of poetry and spoken word. This is your space, to share what you want - how you want.

You’ll get to work alongside incredible artists like Huda the Goddess as they take you on a journey of poetry writing and storytelling. No experience or writing skills needed! Just bring yourself, your story and your creativity to the space and we will guide you through the rest.

The program will involve 6 x monthly workshops with writing, storytelling and reflections and, most importantly, the chance to connect with other likeminded young women.

Following the 6 month program, there will be the chance to take it further and be part of publishing a book of poetry with the group, producing a podcast and series of spoken word events.

Limited spots available.

The Future Ancestors Program acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the traditional custodians of so-called Australia.

We acknowledge Turrbal and Yaggera country - places on which we gather that have always been enriched by lore, community, culture and identity.

We recognise all indigenous people, in particular those from the Pacific and the interwoven history we share with the First Nations people of Australia.
