USP is hiring: Fellow in Language and Literacy

The University of the South Pacific invites suitably qualified applicants for the Fellow in Language and Literacy position based in either Tonga/Fiji/Samoa/Solomon Islands.
The appointee will be responsible for: Developing literacy resources, providing training and policy advice, conducting research, contributing to the Waka Publications Program and PacREF projects, teaching courses, supervising students, writing proposals/reports, representing the Institute, collaborating with stakeholders, and generating income related to language and literacy education in the Pacific region.
The incumbent is expected to operate under the direct supervision of the Director of the Institute of Education. He/she is expected to be efficient in the performance of the stated responsibilities within the Institute of Education with the following required competencies:
Knowledge and understanding of Pacific cultures, values, beliefs, and knowledge systems;
Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural context and as an active team player;
Strong research capability and experience with language and literacy resource development;
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines;
Demonstrated leadership and innovative thinking.
