Call for applications:  Are you interested in learning how to use nature to build climate resilience in the Pacific?

Now you can, with the Pacific’s first-ever officially endorsed Nature-based Solutions (NbS) qualification, designed by Pacific people, for Pacific people! NbS are actions to protect, sustainably manage and restore natural or modified ecosystems that address societal challenges effectively and adaptively, while providing human well-being and biodiversity benefits.


The Enhance Adaptation and Resilience Using NbS is a Level 6, 20-credit micro-qualification, developed by SPC and Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme - SPREP with AUT - Auckland University of Technology and Griffith University, funded by the Kiwa Initiative.  


  •  Pilot: 27 Oct – 21 Nov 2025 (online by Griffith University)

  •  200 hours, including 14 live sessions (Tuesdays & Thursdays, noon–3pm NZ time)

  •  Sponsored places: up to 40 learners


Entry requirements (one of):

  • Level 4 qualification in a related field

  • Fiji Year 12 (or equivalent) + 2 years’ work experience

  • Mature student entry (English proficiency required)


Who can apply:

  • Entry requirements (one of):

  • Technical officers, policy advisors, project managers, community practitioners

  • Professionals in fisheries, agriculture, forestry, water, conservation, urban development, and adaptation

  • Academics and educators interested in future delivery

  • Technology needs: Reliable internet + laptop with webcam/mic.
