Multicultural Youth QLD Youth Matters Conference

The Youth Matters Conference 2026 is a youth-led, action-focused event hosted by Multicultural Youth Queensland (MYQ) at the Queensland Multicultural Centre. The conference brings together multicultural young people, youth organisations, partners, and supporters to centre lived experience, strengthen youth leadership, and drive inclusive, community-led solutions across Queensland.

The event will open with a facilitated dialogue highlighting key issues identified through MYQ, Youth Voice Brisbane (YV), and Youth Ethnic Network (YEN) consultations, followed by interactive issue-mapping to capture emerging and overlooked concerns. Participants will engage in a Youth Project Exhibition showcasing grassroots, youth-led initiatives, and a Project Pitch and Commitment Session where emerging ideas are supported through partnerships, mentoring, funding, and co-design opportunities.

The conference will prioritise meaningful youth participation across design, governance, and delivery, inviting attendees to connect, collaborate, and commit to shaping inclusive futures for multicultural youth in Queensland.

Future Ancestors Program IG Post(1).png

The Future Ancestors Program acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the traditional custodians of so-called Australia.

We acknowledge Turrbal and Yaggera country - places on which we gather that have always been enriched by lore, community, culture and identity.

We recognise all indigenous people, in particular those from the Pacific and the interwoven history we share with the First Nations people of Australia.
