Call for Applications - Navigating the Digital Landscape for Storytelling Advocacy Workshop in Aotearoa (NZ)

The Pacific region is rich, vibrant, and powerful- yet it faces new challenges from, fast-changing technology, artificial intelligence, transparency in digital media, economic prosperity and security.

This workshop brings together current and emerging Pacific leaders (ages 25–40) to protect, strengthen, and amplify Pacific voices to ensure a free, open, and prosperous Pacific.

Over the course of the program, participants will develop leadership skills in storytelling advocacy, digital media, and explore how cultural preservation can take many forms- from cooking to coding, painting to product design, wakas to writing. The focus is on both honoring traditional cultural preservation and leveraging modern tools to ensure Pacific stories, identities, and sovereignty endure for future generations.

The Future Ancestors Program acknowledges the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the traditional custodians of so-called Australia.

We acknowledge Turrbal and Yaggera country - places on which we gather that have always been enriched by lore, community, culture and identity.

We recognise all indigenous people, in particular those from the Pacific and the interwoven history we share with the First Nations people of Australia.
